MARIBEL ELMIDO
Based between New York and Jacksonville, I wander streets where light falls softly and shadows hold memory. My work is a quiet conversation with natural light — whether on film or digital, I wait for the moment when everything becomes still.
I believe every frame tells a story, but the most honest stories are the ones whispered, not shouted. The grain of 35mm, the precision of a lens, the silver of a print — these are simply tools to translate what the eye feels.
At its heart, my photography is an attempt to capture time before it slips away: a glance, a breath, the texture of rain on pavement. Timelessness, for me, lives in the ordinary — if we only pause long enough to see it.
